Schools in remote areas are provided with smart boards and modern computers

Within the framework of the Sustainable Rural Development Project of the Joint Project Implementation Unit under the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan to support education and technological progress, 4 interactive smart boards and 60 computers were handed over to rural schools, providing teachers and students with access to modern educational resources and tools.

Based on the results of the "Capacity Assessment of the Rural School and Digital Literacy of the School Students and Teachers" prepared by the UNDP local expert, the project plans to assist in the technical improvement of selected rural schools in the pilot regions.

Based on the developed criteria, the following 4 rural schools were selected, and they received digital smartboards, 60 computers, and LAN equipment for the local network:

School No. 9 of Atayurt mahalla in Turtkul district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan;

School No. 10 of Kamolot mahalla in Khazorasp district of Khorezm region;

School No. 28 of Naiman mahalla in Vobkent district of Bukhara region;

School No. 18 of Varozun mahalla in Kyzyltepa district of Navoi region.

Digital smartboards allow teachers to present information more engagingly and interactively, and they can also be used to create and deliver multimedia lessons. Computers provide students with access to a wealth of educational resources and allow them to develop their digital literacy skills. LAN hubs and cables connect computers and allow students to share resources and collaborate on projects.

Also, the additional 4 rural schools will receive the same equipment in the first half of 2024.

“Investing in education today is an investment for the future. Digital smart boards and modern computers will allow students to receive information more interestingly and interactively. It will be possible to conduct multimedia lessons. Thanks to computers connected to the internet, our students will have the opportunity to effectively use useful educational resources,” said Fakhriddin Jamolov, director of school #18, located in the Varozun mahalla.
